Careers Education at Tenterfield High School includes a variety of programs and strategies designed to support students’ career development through learning activities.

Career Advice: Provided through careers lessons, one-on-one interviews, or small group sessions with our Careers Advisor.

Career Development: Helps students build knowledge, skills, and capabilities to manage their future training, education, and employment pathways.

Industry and Tertiary Links: We have a strong partnership with TAFE NSW, local and regional industries as well as Universities.

University Roadshow: Tenterfield High School offers senior students the opportunity to engage with various university professionals who visit our school. Additionally, students have the chance to attend open days at the University of New England (UNE) in Armidale.

Work Experience: Recommended for students in Years 9-12, arranged with employers at mutually agreed times.

VET Program: Supports Vocational Education and Training partnered with the HSC; integrated into the Year 10–11 Subject Selection process.

Educational Pathways Program: helps students explore learning and career options by identifying their interests and strengths. It provides guidance and support to connect them with training, apprenticeships, or further study, ensuring informed decisions and successful transitions beyond school.
